3 Use a white gel pen to highlight the upper edges and add small circles. FOLD A QUICK ACCORDION BORDER The die cut borders on this page brought the layout together so quickly that I was able to take the time to create my own vertical border to separate the photos from the journaling. This accordion-folded border was easy and fun to make. It added texture and interest to the otherwise one-dimensional layout. Assembling the border before adhering it to the page made the construction easy because I could hold it in my hands while I worked.

Make the most of that stack of leftovers by creating an oversized embellishment like this colorful egg. Draw your shape on a piece of white cardstock and trace it with a black pen so the shape can be seen through the back side of the paper. Turn the paper over and fill in the shape with strips of paper and ribbon. Cut out the shape and adhere it to the page. I edged this brightly colored egg with white paint to help it stand out from the background. Try this simple technique with any shape, theme or color scheme.

She chose a vibrant green to create this fun mesh accent. She punched circles from both the mesh and a coordinating piece of cardstock and then layered the mesh on top. Jen thought the mesh circles, felt buttons and cute metal tags reflected her daughter’s fun personality. Check out the little bit of mesh Jen placed in the A’s in her title. So cute!
