By contrast, Weis views Nah 1:1 as an ‘expanded title,’ presumably because it is followed by another title, ‘( ֵס ֶפר ֲחזוֹן נַ חוּם ָה ֶא ְלק ִֹשׁיthe book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite’). However, it appears that the latter heading may have been an earlier title of the book of Nahum (cf. Isa 1:1; Obad 1:1), in which case ַמ ָשּׂא נִ ינְ וֵ הwould actually be the expansion.
